Storm Info

PLOW SEASON 2016/2017

Before the start of our plow season, we accept new plow customers until December 1st. Our plow crews serve the following towns: Madison, Middletown, Middlefield, Rockfall and Durham. At the beginning of our plow season, we pre-map our routes for the ease and efficiency of our drivers. Making changes to this schedule can cause complications and impedes our progress as we seek to plow the driveways for our nearly 200 plow customers.

During storm events, you can always reach us. Current plow customers should email sue@torrisonstone.com and include your full name, property address and contact information so we can resolve your issue in a timely manner.

2pm

Our crews are still out, dealing with extremely heavy snow. If you have seen us out, we will be back for another pass to keep up with the continuing accumulation and weight. For those with shoveling service, shovelers will return for a final clean up as well.

9:30am

Good morning! Our plow crews are out and will remain on the roads to provide access for our nearly 200 plow customers.

While our showroom is closed today, our office phone and email are continuously monitored so any issues or concerns can be communicated to us. If you need to contact us, please include your FULL NAME,  ADDRESS with TOWN and your EMAIL and PHONE #. sue@torrisonstone.com

As a reminder, the Governor has issued a statewide travel ban for Connecticut that went into effect this morning at 5am and will remain until further notice. Please make every effort to remain safe and warm throughout the storm.

March 9, 2017

8:30pm

The forecast indicates a snow storm starting after midnight tonight and our plow crews are ready to be dispatched if needed. Reports indicate that a 3-5 inch accumulation is possible with cold temperatures and more snow expected early next week. If we see minimal accumulation, we will not dispatch our plow crews because the ground is not frozen and doing so could create more of a mess.

Please check your emails frequently for updates.

February 12, 2017

5pm

Our plow crews have been dispatched and all of our customers should see us within the next couple of hours. This storm is delivering 3-4 inches to most areas and will be combined with the added hazard of freezing rain forecasted to affect our plow areas until 9:30 pm tonight. The conditions being reported by our drivers are extremely hazardous. Stay off the roads if you can.

February 9, 2017

4pm

Our crews are out continuing to plow for our customers and will be out all night if needed. Please be patient as this storm has brought many challenges. The snow is extremely heavy which means that it will, in most cases, require two plowings to remove the accumulation and weight that is characterizing this storm. Our drivers are reporting that town snow removal crews have not kept up with clearing main roads making it very difficult to travel. With gusting white-out conditions and heavy snow, our routes are taking twice as long to plow. The safety of our drivers is extremely important, so please know that we will get to you as soon as we can.

Should you need additional plow services tomorrow, please email sue@torrisonstone.com and we will offer this as an additional service.

10am

We hope you’re safe this morning. Our trucks are out and will stay out for the duration of the storm. Drivers are reporting hazardous road conditions with many accidents. We will get to everyone, but the situation is slow and treacherous.

If you need to get a message to us, please email sue@torrisonstone.com with your NAME and COMPLETE ADDRESS (street and town).

January 31, 2017

Our snow plow trucks are heading out by 6:30pm this evening. Based on what we’re seeing in our plow areas, there are about 3-4 inches of snow accumulation and things are winding down. Unless you have provided prior specific instructions about plowing criteria for your home, our drivers will be plowing for all customers.

January 7, 2017

Our plow crews are preparing to head out by 3pm today and will remain out for the duration of the storm. If you need to get a message to us, please email sue@torrisonstone.com. Thank you and stay safe.
